A-Link-To-The-Force

“Yes. A hero’s strength flows from the Triforce. But beware of the Dark World. Anger… fear… monsters. The dark side of the Sacred Realm are they. Easily it transforms. Quick into a defenseless pink bunny it turns you. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny. Consume you it will, as it did Ganon’s apprentice.”

“Agahnim. Is the Dark World stronger?”

“No… no… no. Quicker, easier, more bombs.”

“But how am I to know the Dark World from the Light?”

“You will know. When you are calm, at peace. Passive. A hero uses the Triforce for knowledge and defense, never for attack.”

“But tell me why I can’t…”

“No, no, there is no why. Nothing more will I teach you today. Clear your mind of questions. Mmm. Mmmmmm.”

“Master Sahasrahla, I can’t possibly complete this task you’ve set before me.”

“So certain are you. Always with you it cannot be done. Hear you nothing that I say?”

“Master, retrieving the bow from the Eastern Palace and using the Pegasus Boots to find the Book of Mudora, which gets me into the Desert Palace, wherein I find the Power Glove, which helps me find the Magic Mirror which, in turn, grants me entrance to the Tower of Hera, where I find the Moon Pearl, which allows me to retain my form in the Dark World and then find the Master Sword in the Lost Woods is one thing. This is totally different.”

“No! No different! Only different in your mind. Now repeat what you have learned.”

“All right, I’ll give it a try.”

“No! Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

“Fine, fine. Let’s see if I got this straight. Now that I have the Master Sword, I need to go to the Palace of Darkness. And there I’ll find this magic hammer?”

“Defeat Helmasaur with it, you must.”

“Right, Helmasaur. Then I buy some flippers from Zora up the river…”

“Five hundred rupees, you’ll need.”

“Yeah I got it, thanks. Then I’ll find something called a Hookshot down in the Swamp Palace. And then I go all the way to Skull Woods and get the Hot Rod…”

Fire Rod.”

“Right. Then I find this guy Blind’s dungeon and I’ll get the… Titan’s Mitt?”

“Yes. Good. Mmm.”

“And I’ll need that to get into the Ice Palace so I can find the Blue Armor. Then I get a shovel from some kid, dig up a flute by some stump, and go to Kakariko Village to free a magic bird from a weather vane. The bird is supposed to take me to a monolith south of town and I’ll use the Book of Mudora to get the Ether Medallion which will get me into the Misery Palace.”

“Misery Mire Palace. Yes, yes. What then?”

“Then I find the Cane of Somaria and go back to the Dark World to get the Quake Medallion which opens Turtle Rock, which has the mirror shield, which helps me defeat Trinexx. Then I go all the way back to Ganon’s Tower, get the Red Armor, and then I can finally confront Agahnim!”

“Yes. Much you have learned. But forgetting are you the Super Bomb and the Pyramid of Power.”

“This is ridiculous! I can’t do this! It’s just too big!”

“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? And well you should not. For my ally in the Triforce. And a powerful ally it is. The seven sages created it, made it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Triforce around you. Here, between you… me… the tree… the rock… everywhere! Yes, even between you… and Ganon.”

“You want the impossible.”

“Own you a Game Genie?”

“Uh… no.”

“That is why you fail.”
